The nursery features its own garden space, extensively used for outdoor exploration, gardening, and play. The experienced staff are dedicated to preparing children for school and life beyond nursery, closely following established routines for babies and fostering strong relationships with families.

The curriculum, led by an inspiring Nursery Manager, builds upon Early Years Foundation Stage guidelines (0-5 years) with extended and stimulating activities tailored to each child's developmental stage. They offer an innovative and dynamic approach to learning, with staff who are passionate about developing the curriculum using the latest techniques.

Our ethos

Abberley House provides care and education in an environment which enables children to feel safe and supported and which extends their learning and development. We highly celebrate the skills and competence of all babies and young children in our care. Most children come to Abberley House with a wealth of experience to draw upon. They have learnt about people and their environment and have begun to develop many of the skills they need to operate in their world, but it is the task of the Practitioners to build on this experience to extend their learning.

Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Staff differentiate activities to ensure that all children's individual learning needs are met, including children with special educational needs and/or disabilities. Staff work with parents and other professionals to support children with their target plans if they are falling behind in their development.

Outdoor space

Staff are mindful of children's safety during their time outside, ensuring children stay hydrated in warm weather and stay out of the sun as much as possible. Children learn where food comes from by planting seeds in their vegetable patch and help to take care of them.
