They feel extremely well informed about their children's learning.
They appreciate the regular newsletters and children's progress reports.
They enjoy opportunities to join their children in the setting for stay- and-play picnics and celebrations.
Inclusion & environment
Staff embrace training opportunities, having completed a 'speech sounds' course to enhance the support they provide for children who find verbal communication more difficult. They skilfully support all children to encourage their language and thinking, model language, provide a narrative to children's play, introduce new vocabulary, and seek outside professional support to implement effective strategies to support children's communication skills further.
All children have great fun exploring the playgroup allotment each day. They choose from many activities staff plan, showing motivation to learn and gaining a greater understanding of the natural world. Children find stones, sticks, and leaves to match reference sheets, discuss their finds, and delight in finding worms and minibeasts, carefully transferring them to the bug hotel.
My sister used to attend here nearly 20 years ago and my lo goes here now. Same lady running it. Lovely close knit and friendly little playgroup. Would recommend to all who want that personal touch rather than big faceless places with loads of kids in attendance.
