Anchor Day Nursery, located near the A4174 ring road in Bristol, provides exceptional childcare for children aged 0-5 years. The nursery boasts a 60-place capacity and offers dedicated rooms tailored to different age groups: a nurturing baby room, a stimulating toddler room, an engaging 2-3 years room, and an exciting preschool room, each designed to lay strong foundations for learning.

All children have access to a garden area, segmented for different age groups to ensure appropriate play and exploration. The nursery prides itself on its commitment to the Early Years Curriculum, focusing on the seven areas of learning to support each child's individual milestones.

They emphasise collaboration with parents, especially in the baby room, to maintain consistent routines. As children progress to the toddler room, the focus shifts to more stimulating and messy play activities, prioritising Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Communication and Language, and Physical Development.

The 2-3s room encourages a free-flow routine while gently introducing more structured activities to prepare for preschool.

Our ethos

Anchor Day Nursery is committed to the Early Years Curriculum, focusing on the seven areas of learning to support individual milestones. They emphasise tailored play and exploration for different age groups, with a progression in activities from sensory and messy play in the toddler room, to free-flow and introduction of structured activities in the 2-3s room, and integration of numeracy and literacy in the preschool room. What it's like

The manager and staff provide exciting and engaging activities for children of different ages across the nursery. They make sure that they talk with families and children about what their lives are like outside the setting, to help them plan meaningful experiences. There have been changes to the physical play spaces, including the enlargement of the pre-school room and the addition of a sensory room, which have increased opportunities for children.
