The Park Neighbourhood Nursery, established in 2004, is situated in a beautifully lit Victorian School building in Kingswood, Bristol. As a self-supporting, not-for-profit charity, its primary mission is to foster love and confidence in young children, believing these attributes are vital for a lifetime of curiosity.
Every penny received through fees is directly reinvested into the nursery's operations, ensuring that children's growth and development remain at the forefront. The nursery's journey began as part of the Neighbourhood Nursery Initiative, driven by the conviction that all children deserve a supportive environment for learning, growth, and play.
The educational approach at The Park Neighbourhood Nursery is child-centred and informal, focusing on responding to each child's interests and developmental stage. Through careful observation and timely intervention, educators aim to capture 'teachable moments' during play, conversations, or adult-led activities, maximising each child's motivation and involvement in their progression.

Verbatim quotes recorded in the Ofsted inspection
"Parents' feedback is positive. They speak highly of the nursery and the staff. Parents feel well informed about their children's development through regular communication with staff."
Inclusion & environment
The managers and staff construct an inclusive curriculum that is ambitious for all children in their care, particularly those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). There is good support for children with SEND. The special educational needs coordinator (SENCo) monitors children's needs and liaises with other professionals, who assess the needs of children with SEND, enabling them to reach their full potential. Staff also focus on children's language development, particularly those with SEND.
Children spend time outdoors every day. The nursery has a big garden, separated into different sections, with a range of resources. This helps children of all ages to have fun outdoors at the same time.
Staff focus on children's language development, particularly those who speak English as an additional language. They model language and use songs, signs, and key words in children's home languages, along with visual prompts and repetition.
The ladies at the Park Neighbourhood Nursery have been absolutely brilliant with my little girl. They were caring, loving, always treated very well. She went to nursery without speaking English (we are a multicultural family so English is our third language); and she came out speaking fluently and having learned lots. I´m very pleased with your work and would recommend the nursery to everyone. Thank you Carly, Jacqui, Chantelle and the rest of the team. Mili loves you all.
Read on GoogleThis is an absolutely outstanding nursery. I have worked here for the last year and bring my little boy to work with me. The team are absolutely fabulous and treat every child just like their own! Such a family atmosphere, exactly how you would want your children to be cared for. My little boy is always happy and smiling at nursery and the team really help him to reach his full potential! They know every detail about him and how to make sure they are meeting his needs throughout the day, you don’t get this same level of care and attention in other nursery settings. Really love love love it here.
