About this day nursery
Atherton House School, which has been providing early years education since 1947, is committed to fostering healthy, happy, and confident children within a supportive and inclusive environment. The nursery strives to instil values of safety and respect, preparing its young attendees to become valued members of society.
They embrace a ‘home from home’ atmosphere where learning is primarily achieved through play, encouraging children’s natural curiosity and development. The school offers various provisions across different rooms tailored for babies, kindergarten, nursery, and pre-school aged children.

How they support every child
SEND provision
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, leaders have noticed that some children have experienced difficulties with their communication and language development. As a result, staff have implemented activities to help children pronounce words correctly. Children also learn to use sign language. This helps all children to express themselves effectively.
Outdoor space
Children ride cars and bikes safely around the designated area in the garden. Children benefit from meaningful learning and develop an understanding of writing for purpose as they enthusiastically write letters and post them in the outdoor role play post office.
