I have been contemplating whether to leave a review for Audlen House Nursery, and after much thought, I feel compelled to share my experience. My son started attending the nursery back in September, and from the outset, the staff recognized that he might need extra support due to some developmental delays. I had already informed the nursery that he can be fussy with his meals, and I became increasingly concerned when he would often go an entire afternoon with just a yogurt. When I brought this up with the manager, I was advised that they couldn't do much and suggested I try the food he has at nursery at home, which I found to be unmanageable. As my son turned two and transitioned to a larger class, I was told he was quite unsettled and struggling to adapt to the new environment. At that point, I had not been informed about any support that would be available for him. I requested a meeting with the managers to discuss what assistance my son would be receiving, only to discover that there was no support in place and no SEND carer available. The only option offered was a referral to the EDIT team, with no further actions from the nursery. Initially, this led me to consider withdrawing my son from the nursery. However, after some reflection, I decided to keep him enrolled until I heard back from the EDIT team. Unfortunately, the response I received from the manager after discussing my decision felt vague and left me questioning whether I made the right choice to keep him there. A few additional points to highlight: - My son rarely appeared in the nursery's pictures, which made me wonder about his engagement there. - There was a lack of communication from his key worker regarding any concerns she might have had; the feedback I received from the carers at the door was often inconsistent with what the manager conveyed. - The two-year review felt quite harsh and failed to acknowledge any of my son's strengths or positive attributes. Overall, my experience at Audlen House has been disappointing, and I hope that my review encourages improvements in communication and support for children with special needs.
Read on GoogleFelt mistreated because of being on funding hours. When speaking to the manager and Sarah they came across rude and didn’t show interest in my child. Came home with a black eye which was put as unexplained because they couldn’t give a reason for it. Rarely saw photos which were included in price and a video which didn’t include my child. Felt mistreated because young parents and on funding. Really would not recommend. Took him out and going back to his old nursery as the standards are much higher and they show interest in ALL their children.

Read on GoogleI cannot praise this nursery enough. My son and daughter were there for 1.5 years and 7 months respectively. The staff is very well trained and really make you feel your child is loved there. They went above an beyond my expectations to cater to our dietary needs and make cultural/religious minorities feel included in the nusery. The place is spotless and their food very well balanced. It was really a heartbreak to have to leave!
