Bambinos Childcare Centre, located in Plymouth, offers a nurturing and stimulating environment for children aged 1 to 4 years. Established in 2006, this all-year setting operates from 7:00 AM to 6:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
The dedicated staff, guided by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, are adept at identifying and supporting children potentially needing additional help, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). They swiftly implement tailored interventions and provide bespoke support with sensory breaks.
Leaders work collaboratively with parents and external professionals to ensure steady progress for all children. The nursery effectively utilises additional funding, such as the early years pupil premium and disability access funding, to target support and remove learning barriers.
Children at Bambinos engage in a wide range of activities, both indoors and outdoors, fostering their physical development and confidence. Babies grip objects, toddlers explore soft play, and preschoolers tackle climbing structures in the outdoor area.
The setting also focuses on emotional well-being, helping children manage their feelings and build secure attachments through warm interactions.
Our ethos
Bambinos Childcare Centre is committed to fostering confidence and curiosity through engaging learning activities and a focus on individual child development, utilising a blend of recognised early years frameworks and the Montessori approach where appropriate. They aim to provide a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment, prioritising children's happiness, wellbeing, and growth while preparing them for future learning.
What it's like
Children achieve well at this setting because staff create a learning environment where children enjoy exploring, discovering and taking part in purposeful activities. Practitioners identify each child's starting point quickly and use ongoing assessment to plan what each child needs to learn next, adapting teaching skilfully to ensure children develop independence, confidence and age-appropriate knowledge across all areas of learning. Staff work proactively with parents, key persons and external professionals to remove barriers to learning, particularly for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities, disadvantaged children and those known to social care. As a result, these children make steady, sustained progress from their individual starting points.

Children of all ages enjoy a wide range of activities, both indoors and outdoors, that help them grow stronger, more confident, and physically capable.
Amazing place. My daughter absolutely loves it here and has been so well cared for and looked after by the staff. It's clear she feels safe here, often running over to her favourite carer and the staff have been so lovely and supportive of our family during a difficult time and have gone above and beyond to make sure we're supported and our daughter is safe.
Read on GoogleI strongly do not recommend this childcare service to other parents who want a safe and caring environment for their children. Improvements need to be made immediately to ensure better care and service. Unprofessional and negligence of childmental health. Simply said sorry we will take care next time. They left my child on the floor crying in hunger and feeding other kids, My heart stopped, simoly said caretaker wasn't in. So what as an adult other caretaker supposed not take care of kids. Not safe for kid's mental health and they don't feed kids. Many parents have these issues. I stopped my kid going to this filthy place.
Read on GoogleMy son absolutely loves Bambinos Nursery. Every single member of staff is really friendly and so good with the children. My son's speech is brilliant for his age and so much of it comes from what he learns at the nursery. I never worry about him at nursery because I always know they have his best interest at heart. He usually never wants to leave, that's how much fun he has!
Read on GoogleOur son loves going to Bambinos. The staff are fantastic and really care about the children and their progress. They do lots of fun activities and have different spaces for the children to explore. It's a fantastic nursery.
Read on GoogleMy son went to Bambinos in Tavistock originally, but transferred to Mutley when we moved. He moved from a very quiet nursery to a very busy one, but he transitioned so well. The staff were amazing with him and I believe he's the clever confident boy he is today because of Bambinos. My 1 year old daughter now goes and has settled into the baby unit really well. Natalie and Beth are amazing and she loves going. Can't fault Bambinos at all and would recommend highly. Especially as they are open through out the holidays too
