  • Children benefit from healthy and nutritious meals and snacks prepared daily by a chef who interacts with them.
  • Staff promote language and communication through discussions, singing, rhyme, and story time sessions.
  • Children are encouraged to be independent in tasks like putting on shoes and self-feeding, promoting confidence and school readiness.
  • The environment and resources are carefully considered to build on children's skills, with furniture arranged to help babies become more mobile and different equipment provided for various developmental stages.
  • Children's development is continuously assessed, and learning programmes address any gaps quickly.

Areas to develop

  • 1consider the daily routine and care practices, for example, so that they do not interrupt or interfere with children's concentration and learning
  • 2consider providing some more challenging equipment outdoors, to promote and extend older children's large physical skills.

What parents say

Verbatim quotes recorded in the Ofsted inspection

Parents explain how staff have helped their children with weaning, potty and toilet training routines.

Parents also comment that the setting has a 'family' feel.

Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Good procedures are in place to ensure that children who may need additional support are assessed at the earliest opportunity. Staff work with other professionals and agencies to ensure that children who need it, receive specific help, such as speech and language support.

Outdoor space

Although there are good resources indoors to promote babies and younger children's large physical development, there are limited resources available outdoors to build on older children's large physical skills. When playing outside, children hear emergency vehicles, which leads to different activities, such as children pretending to be emergency workers in the role play area.

I am so grateful to this nursery! We had a terrible time with a fairly awful childminder and I was up a height about leaving our baby with anyone else, but Banana Moon have been so good with him. He loves all the ladies, he really really loves the food and the updates we get are even better than I expected - I love seeing photos of him having a nice time through the day.
