Buttercups Childcare Ltd. operates a day nursery in Bar Hill, Cambridge, aiming to provide a nurturing “home from home” where children are inspired to learn, explore, and grow. This approach integrates elements from various renowned educational philosophies, including Waldorf Steiner, Te Whariki, Montessori, Pikler, and Reggio Emilia, alongside the Five to Thrive framework, creating a rich and varied learning environment. The dedicated team at Buttercups Childcare is committed to building a supportive community where each child feels cherished and respected, enabling them to achieve their full potential and develop into independent, self-assured individuals who value themselves and others.

Inclusion & environment
Staff work closely with families and other professionals to provide targeted support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities. Additional funding, such as early years pupil premium, is used well to support children's needs.
In the pre-school, children re-enact their favourite stories in the garden. They are fascinated by a bee they find in the sandpit. Children are encouraged to help staff to identify any risks in the garden before they play.
Children attend the nursery who speak English as an additional language. Staff help them to learn and to develop their communication skills in English by providing a language-rich environment. However, not all staff understand and promote the benefits for children to be able to use and to see their home language at nursery as well as at home.
