About this day nursery

Barnett Wood Pre-School, established in 1993, is an independently run educational setting located in Ashtead, offering term-time only care for children from the September after their second birthday. Operating on the same site as Barnett Wood Infant School, it provides a warm, stimulating, and friendly environment where children can engage in play, learning, and social development.

The pre-school operates as a limited company with charitable status, prioritising the needs of its families and children by reinvesting surplus funds back into the setting. It is led by a dedicated team of directors who volunteer their time, alongside manager Louise Pruthi and experienced staff.

The pre-school has been recognised as "Outstanding" by Ofsted in all areas, with particular praise for its nurturing atmosphere, the high motivation and engagement of the children, and the exceptional quality of teaching and support, including for those with special educational needs. Strong parent partnerships and robust safeguarding measures are also key aspects of its operations, aiming to provide an enriching start to each child's educational journey and prepare them for future schooling.
