Flying Start Day Nursery at Moorlands offers a nurturing environment for children from 3 months old, catering to their developmental needs through various age-specific groups including a dedicated baby unit, toddlers, infants, and a pre-school programme. The nursery emphasises providing a stimulating and safe space for growth, both indoors and outdoors, with direct access to a baby garden for the youngest attendees.
As children mature, they are progressively moved to areas that better suit their expanding independence and learning requirements. The Moorlands branch specifically caters to the Ashtead community, focusing on healthy development during the foundational early years.
With clear communication channels for parents, Flying Start Day Nursery at Moorlands aims to create a supportive and engaging experience for every child.

New parents say that staff go above and beyond and that the settling-in session really helps them get to know their child's key person.
Inclusion & environment
All children demonstrate a positive attitude to their learning, including children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Children with SEND are supported very well. Leaders and staff work hard to ensure that children and their families have access to relevant support agencies, communicating frequently with parents and working to support children, which helps staff to precisely plan children's next steps.
Children have ample opportunities to access the outdoors. They experience a range of activities that support their physical development, such as running, jumping, and riding small bicycles in the large outside spaces. Younger children use paintbrushes to make marks, supporting their developing large- and small-muscle skills.
Flying Start Moorlands is the most magical nursery and we have been so happy here for the last 2.5 years. Our little boy can’t wait to go and see his friends and his key workers, who are kind, fun and inspiring. Ben and Lynne are super managers, the atmosphere is warm, friendly and helpful. This really is the best of the best and we are very sad to be saying goodbye as my little one heads to school.
