Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Care and support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are a key strength. Staff attend regular meetings with other agencies, share targets and progress, and make great use of funding to help support children's individual needs. They built a chill-out area to help children calm down, greatly supporting their emotional needs. The special educational needs coordinator spoke to the inspector about how children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are supported.

Outdoor space

Outside, staff spot children trying to climb up the fence of the vegetable patch and remind them it is unsafe. They suggest children use a crate to climb on to see what is growing, which enhances their natural curiosity in the world around them. Younger children extend their physical development with staff responding to their interests in jumping and playing music for them to move along to.

Lovely nursery in Sydenham. The staff are all so friendly and engaging with the babies. My son has come along so well since attending the last couple of months, it's amazing to see. He is always smiling when we pick him up. They have put good measures in place to protect children, staff and parents from Covid. They also have a great app which they use well so I can see what my baby has been up to, with photos too. They have also been really understanding with our multiple requests to change dates. Thank you to the BeBright Bunnies team!

The nursery was fantastic at helping our daughter settle in when she first started at 10 months old and was always open to having conversations about any questions/concerns we had, which put us at ease. The staff have been friendly, caring and supportive during the past 2.5 years our daughter has been with them and our daughter still talks about the nursery even though it’s been months since she’s stopped going there.

I would not recommend this nursery at all. The facilities are great and the space is of a good size and adequate for the amount of children it takes. But the staff morale is very low, staff turn over is constant and impacts the ability for children to build good solid relationships and rapport. There is little to no structure to the day. Although there ethos is learning through play, it is severely chaotic due to staffing issues. There is little to no follow up or action planning for children's development. They implement ideas and do not follow through, which causes more issues then it solves. The app is rarely updated on your child's day and communication at pick up is minimal. One of the class rules in pre school class is to 'use indoor voices' but staff are having to yell at children due to lack of staff, this contradicts the behaviour discipline they are trying to implement. My child was there over two years and they didn't conduct any in hours trips or outings outside, which I was told they do when I enrolled my child.Overall, the staff do not seem happy at all and this morale transfers down to the learning setting. It is not a pleasant environment and needs big improvements. I would steer clear. The best aspect of this nursery is the children I've come across there and the bonds my child made with thier peers and the few great staff members who made the effort with my child.

My daughter started at BeBright since she was 6 months old. She loves all the Bebright staffs, always give them a cuddy, in the morning she is willing and happily go in. We are grateful that she is well loved by the staffs too, all are very caring and kind to her. I also like the fact that all the meals are cooked within the nursery and therefore they can ensure it is low in sugar and more healthy! The famly app is awesome in keeping myself up to date with what's happening in the nursery, seeing pictures of them and communicating with staff. I feel the communication is open. My older son who has been in BeBright since 1. Overall he loved and still enjoy going to BeBright. He had good relationship with the staffs, made great friends, comfortable going to the staffs with his worries. He still talks about his nursery teachers and friends now.
