Inclusion & environment
Leaders confidently plan a curriculum that ensures all children have equal chances to succeed as they progress through the nursery. This includes children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and children for whom the team has concerns. Staff work closely with other professionals to ensure that children, including those with SEND, receive targeted support. This helps them to close any gaps in their learning so that they make good progress.
Some children enjoy moving their bodies to music while others manipulate play dough as part of strengthening their hand and finger movements. Staff offer their hands to babies when they show signs of wanting to stand. However, there are fewer opportunities for babies to use different objects and resources to further encourage their core strength, balance, and coordination.
We’ve sent our 3 children to Bright Horizons New Beckenham Day Nursery & Preschool over the last 8 years and all three of them have thoroughly enjoyed their time there! My eldest even likes to go back regularly to pick up the youngest as she misses it so much! The structure of Preschool is a brilliant mix of learning and fun and you can tell the staff really care for the children and their learning journey. It’s been a fantastic stepping stone into Reception and has meant my eldest two had seamless starts into infant school. The Management team are also so supportive and keep parents well informed while always being available for parents should we need to talk to them. There’s also the App which gives you updates throughout the day with what your child has been up to and eaten etc and keeps you up to date with their learning journey so it’s a lovely check-in throughout the day. I honestly couldn’t recommend this nursery any higher! Over the 8 years it hasn’t always been perfect and I would suggest the other review needs to be read with a pinch of salt… what I would say is if I was doing nursery again, I wouldn’t hesitate to send them to new Beckenham bright horizons. Keep up the good work team and we’ll be back to see how you’re getting on.
Read on GoogleI definitely recommend the Bright Horizons nursery at New Beckenham, we've had a great experience there with both our children. The staff are lovely and build genuine caring relationships with the children. The preschool room in particular do fantastic activities which keep the children entertained and they learn skills through play. It's a fun, nurturing environment and it doesn't hurt that the location is very convenient for the station! We'll be sorry to leave the nursery community when our youngest "graduates" next year.
Read on GoogleAppalling service from this nursery group. Having had a poor induction we decided to remove our child. What followed is borderline disgraceful. Whilst the actual day to day care of our child may ( no actual evidence) have been fine, the admin behind the scenes gave us no confidence to keep her. On 4 occasions we were turned away, and had to keep her at home with 2 working parents. We were sent an incorrect bill after 9 months, despite them having our details for direct debit. Having complained about this, and no recognition of lost days from when we were turned away, we had been given 7 days to respond and now they have sent our case to a debt collection agency. Incredulous behaviour and only underlines the correct decision to not use them for our childcare. Listening to parents outside was the first warning, which we didn't take seriously enough. Make sure you chase up the chore of having to give them money otherwise you will find yourself having to fight off debt collectors. The complaints department are of little use.
Read on Google15 children have left this nursery in the last year alone. Noone in the headoffice team seems to care. This is a large group with turnover of millions each year. However the nursery seems never to be on their priority. It takes ages for anything to happen and when it does it is so temporary. Its excuses after excuses. I have called the call centre to get someone senior to pay attention and raised complaints on their website and no response. Hopefully this review might get them to start taking the status of this nursery seriously
Read on GoogleOur daughter started at Bright Horizons 9 months ago. It took her a little while to settle in and the staff were vey supportve throughout the whole process, both with building her confidence and supporting us as parents too. We are so pleased to see how happy and comfortable she is there now, how much she enjoys spending time with her carers, and the friendships she's building. The carers are fantastic: caring, approachable, and genuinely invested in the children. The wider nursery team are just as friendly and welcoming. We really appreciate the updates on the Famly app, where we can see all the fun and varied activities they organise, like the Forest Kimdergarten. It's great to see how much thought goes into supporting the children's development. The nursery feels very inclusive. We also love how they're supporting her language skills and the cultural activities they organised. We'd happily recommend Bright Horizons to other families! Thank you Bright Horizons New Beckenham!
