Opening hours
Open 50 weeks a year, closed two weeks at Christmas.
Bluebell Nursery School, part of Bluebell Studios, is situated in Wavertree, Liverpool, and is dedicated to fostering a love for learning in young children. The nursery operates 50 weeks a year, closing only for two weeks during Christmas, ensuring consistent monthly billing for parents.
Their educational approach is deeply rooted in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, adhering to its standards while also integrating unique teaching methods inspired by influential early years theorists such as Maria Montessori, Rudolph Steiner, Emmi Pikler, Loris Malaguzzi, and the New Zealand-based Te Whariki curriculum. This blend creates a child-centred environment that nurtures curiosity and a sense of wonder.
A standout feature is their Forest School programme, where pre-school children engage with nature weekly, exploring local parks and woodlands throughout the year with their teachers and a dedicated Forest School leader. This initiative helps children learn about environmental changes, identify local flora and fauna, and develop an understanding of how to respect green spaces.
They also learn essential safety skills and participate in activities like creating artwork from natural materials and sharing experiences around a fire, fostering both independence and community. The staff at Bluebell Nursery School are highly skilled, experienced, and deeply committed to the children’s well-being and development.
They undergo thorough inductions, hold enhanced DBS checks, and are certified in paediatric first aid, reflecting a strong emphasis on safety and quality care. The nursery actively supports government funding schemes, encouraging parents to explore available financial assistance and benefit from programmes like the tax-free childcare scheme.

Inclusion & environment
The special educational needs coordinators are highly attuned to the needs of children with SEND and work in close partnership with external professionals to ensure they get swift support. Staff go above and beyond, using funding to support these needs so children with SEND are exceptionally well included and make excellent progress from their starting points.
Children plant and harvest vegetables and take part in physical exercise designed to increase their heart rate, with staff explaining why this supports health. Pre-school children independently change into mud suits and wellington boots, promoting outdoor play and independence.
Amazing nursery and highly recommended. All staff are brilliant with the children and go above and beyond to make sure all children are happy
