About this day nursery

Bolland Hall Day Nursery provides a welcoming and nurturing environment where children from 0 to 4 years old form strong bonds with staff, who know each child exceptionally well. The nursery focuses on supporting new starters to settle by gathering detailed information from parents about their routines, including sleep arrangements, to ensure continuity of care.

The atmosphere is consistently calm and purposeful, fostering strong social interactions where older children show consideration for their younger peers. The curriculum is thoughtfully designed to prepare children for their next stage of learning, incorporating their interests into stimulating activities.

For example, babies explore interesting sensory baskets, while older children engage in creative play like making play-dough pancakes. Staff use high-quality interactions to support children's progress from their individual starting points.

A key strength is the strong emphasis on promoting communication and language skills, with staff regularly introducing new vocabulary and sharing books. The nursery also excels in identifying children who may need additional support, working closely with parents and other professionals to initiate appropriate arrangements.

Children benefit from plenty of outdoor play, fostering good health and an understanding of environmental care, such as recycling and composting. Leaders are committed to continuous improvement, ensuring staff are well-trained and feel valued, which contributes to the overall "Good" rating across all areas of inspection.

My son goes to Bolland Day and has done since he was 10 months old and I can’t recommend it enough. Tracy and the team take such great care of him and he has come on leaps with his speech and social skills. For anyone in Morpeth considering a nursery for their little ones, this one is seriously wonderful!

Our son has been here for nearly two years now and has grown so much in this time, with help of the lovely staff at Bolland. His confidence, interacting with children and adults, eating along with numeracy and literacy skills have all developed. The staff are very friendly and always keep us updated on his progress. They all know him well and genuinely care about all the children and their development. They do lots of different activities and have a lovely outdoor area.

What a lovely place for children to learn and grow! My little grandson has been going to Bolland Nursery for almost a year now and he has settled in really well. The staff are extremely friendly and approachable and nothing is too much trouble. Tracy and Sally, in particular, keep us informed of his progress and any issues, which are few and far between! The children have lots of activities to choose from inside and they have also have access to a great little, secure and shady, grassed outdoor play area with a mud kitchen, slides, playhouses etc. Home cooked food is freshly prepared and there's not much that he won't eat. When searching initially for a nursery, we had several personal recommendations from friends and colleagues and we were able to have 2-3 taster sessions to meet the staff and to see how he got on. This was invaluable as we were able to see for ourselves what a great place it is. We would also now add our recommendation to the growing list!
