Boo Boo's Day Nursery, located in Selby, received a 'Good' rating in its Ofsted inspection on 10 October 2022 across all areas: the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management. The day nursery provides full-day care from 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, all year round, for children aged 0 to 3 years.

Children are noted to arrive happy and settled, quickly forming warm and trusting relationships with their key workers, which helps them feel safe and secure. The staff are adept at linking children's individual interests to learning objectives, such as using a child's interest in vehicles to introduce concepts of 'tall' and 'wide', thereby fostering good developmental progress.

The curriculum encourages positive behaviour, with staff acting as good role models and children learning to take turns, share, and be kind. Engaging activities, like nature hunts, extend children's learning by encouraging discussions about colours and textures.

The nursery offers a daily routine that provides children with a sense of belonging and uses enthusiastic storytelling to develop language skills. Opportunities for active play are abundant, both indoors in a large space for running, dancing, and climbing, and outdoors in the garden, alongside community outings to feed ducks or visit the local park.

Partnerships with parents are strong, with daily communication ensuring they are well-informed about their child's day and development. Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) receive effective support, with staff quickly identifying learning gaps and seeking professional advice to ensure good progress.
