Boscastle Playschool, located in North Cornwall, has been a registered charity providing childcare for over four decades. The day nursery prides itself on fostering learning through play in an engaging and creative setting.
Its recently renovated building offers an open-plan space for diverse activities like cooking, art, puzzles, and reading, encouraging children to explore freely. The outdoor area is a significant feature, boasting a well-established wood and stream for supervised nature exploration, a productive garden—developed with the Eden Project—where children can grow and harvest food, as well as playhouses, a sandpit, and ride-ons.
The children also care for guinea pigs and chickens, enhancing their connection to nature. The playschool frequently organises outings within the local community and beyond, enriching the children's experiences.
They offer full day care, sessional care, and holiday clubs, catering to a range of ages.

Inclusion & environment
Staff are encouraged to engage in further training opportunities, for example a course on 'sensory integration' to support children in the setting. This helps staff understand children's behaviour to enable them to stay regulated.
