About this day nursery

Bright Horizons operates numerous nurseries and preschools throughout the UK, offering childcare and early education with a focus on holistic child development. Their educational philosophy, the 'Nurture Approach,' integrates learning with emotional well-being, aiming to foster healthy, happy children who can reach their full potential.

They emphasize creating an emotionally safe environment for children through the Key Person role, building trust between staff, children, and parents. The curriculum, 'Bright Beginnings,' focuses on five key learning areas, incorporating practical and life skills through engaging activities, including outdoor adventures and Forest School programs.

Understanding the financial pressures on families, Bright Horizons provides guidance on government childcare funding options. They also facilitate a smooth transition for new children and families through non-chargeable settling-in sessions, allowing ample time for children to acclimate to their new surroundings and forge strong bonds with their Key Person before their official start date.

This nursery continues to delight me even after 5 years (two children have attended). The staff always show a deep interest in your child, consider their individual needs and growth, tailoring support to suit. They are always open to feedback & bring helpful suggestions. The team really go above and beyond. The facilities are fantastic, the variety of activities available throughout the rooms are well suited to develop children and both my children have loved being in this nursery. Building bonds with the staff, and setting them up with life skills, been a joy to see them develop here.

This nursery is absolutely fantastic! My daughter felt at ease from her first day. The Bright Horizons app is regularly updated by the staff members throughout the day. The manager Eve has been very easy to communicate with and has kindly accommodated requests wherever possible. Nipa was my daughter’s first key worker and she has been absolutely amazing with her! All of the carers that my daughter was with have been lovely. They really engage children in a range of different activities. I honestly don’t have a negative point to state about this nursery.

This is an absolutely fabulous nursery! My son loves it and I do too! It is so important to find the right place for your family, with people you can trust 100%. The staff is fantastic, all rooms and their garden are of very high quality and the children have a variety of activities on a daily basis. Highly highly recommend!

Worst place to send your child. Staff would not inform us of specific incidents at pick up and how they handled these. An assistant member of staff was threatening to take his comforter if he wouldn't stop crying - because he was missing his mum so the 3-year old had no other choice but stop as he didn't want to lose his comforter too. When things would go wrong during garden playtime the teacher would leave him alone in a room to look at the other children playing from the window. It is shocking that we only find out about these things now, a few years later, that he has grown up and he can express himself and we were not made aware from the nursery.

A fantastic nursery, where our boy has thrived. The staff and facilities are second to none. Special mention to Robyn, with whom our son has created a very stong bond. Thank you.
