Bright Horizons is a well-established childcare provider with over three decades of experience, operating more than 300 nurseries and preschools across the UK. Their core philosophy, known as 'The Nurture Approach™', focuses on integrating both learning and emotional well-being to support each child's holistic development.

This approach emphasises the critical role of dedicated and skilled nursery practitioners in creating a nurturing environment where children feel known, safe, and loved. The curriculum, 'Bright Beginnings', is designed to foster practical and life skills through five key learning areas.

Bright Horizons also prioritises healthy eating with freshly prepared meals and aims to provide enriching outdoor experiences, including Forest School and Eco-Schools programmes. They offer non-chargeable settling-in sessions for new children and their families, starting up to six weeks before the official start date, which allows children to gradually adapt to the nursery environment and build trust with their key person.

This transitional period helps ensure a smooth and positive start for every child.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) are supported well within the nursery. The setting liaises well with other organisations involved in the children's care to provide continuity, and staff know exactly what each individual child needs to progress with their learning. Additional funding is used effectively to pinpoint what children need to develop.

Outdoor space

Children select from a variety of resources outdoors which helps to develop their physical development and risk taking. For instance, children show great enthusiasm to use a range of resources to build their own assault course.

My two daughters have been attending Bright Horizons in Farnborough from a very young age, and with one about to leave to start her school journey I cannot speak more highly about the team at this nursery. Not only do i feel like the girls safety is first and foremost, but the team have also supported their development throughout. I couldn't recommend this nursery more highly!

My little girl has been going here for almost 2 years and she has loved it! She has really good relationships with her teachers and has made immense progress in her development….especially her speech! She has lots of friends here as well and all of her teachers have been amazing! They have so receptive and supportive when times have got tough. My LO loves her food and I love how they introduce me foods on a regular basis. DEFINITELY recommend Bright Horizons!!

My son has attended bright horizons Farnborough since late 2022, the constant updates and pictures of his learning and playing experiences are fantastic, and the extensive menu for the children's lunches and dinners has made it so easy to feed him as he's got older! Cannot fault the staff that have taken excellent care of him and the moment "nursery" is mentioned he's always excited. Thank you!!

My daughter only attended pre-school for a few months before starting school, but she got so much from her experience at Bright Horizons. The staff really took the time to get to know her as an individual, the facilities are great and she was so happy there. Drishti, Georgia, Sam and Ruby were brilliant.

After 2 years of care, my disabled daughter was kicked out with zero notice, as they decided they couldn't care for her any more. The discrimination is beyond belief. Standards of the nursery in the past 12 months have been shocking. 14 months ago, this would have been 5 stars, such a shame. Staff are over worked and stress with so much bank on all the time. Rooms are chaos in the day. Bugs and sickness spread like nothing i've seen, and i have older kids, so pretty familiar with nursery settings
