Inclusion & environment
The special educational needs coordinator (SENCo) helps staff to identify children who do not progress as expected at an early stage. The SENCo works well with parents and other professionals, sharing and reviewing effective methods to address and help close possible gaps in children's learning.
Children enjoy using accessible resources outdoors. They make marks and patterns with rakes in soil and explore the recently developed nature area. Children share resources as they scoop and transfer mud at the outdoor kitchen.
My two year old son has settled really well at the Bright Horizons Lewisham Day nursery. He has built fantastic relationships with his key workers and enjoys being greeted at the door by all other members of staff too. I have full confidence that he is kept busy and stimulated throughout the day with plenty of outdoor play, etc. Most importantly he charges in happily each morning and is full of smiles at pick-up too!
