About this day nursery

Bright Horizons Longfield Day Nursery and Preschool offers a nurturing environment where children are supported to thrive. With a deep understanding of the emotional journey families undertake when starting nursery, the centre provides complimentary "Settling In Sessions" up to six weeks before a child's official start date.

These sessions are designed to familiarise children and parents with the nursery surroundings and staff, fostering a sense of security and belonging. The nursery's unique "Nurture Approach" emphasises the crucial role of a dedicated Key Person in building a "triangle of trust" between the child, parent, and caregiver, ensuring emotional safety and a stable base for exploration and learning.

Each settling-in plan is tailored to the individual needs of the child, acknowledging that some may adjust quickly while others require more time. Parents are encouraged to participate initially, gradually increasing the child's unsupervised time to build confidence in their return.

This personalised approach ensures a smooth and positive transition for every child, promoting their well-being, development, and overall happiness within the Bright Horizons family. The nursery also focuses on providing nutritious meals and offers guidance on various childcare funding options available to families.
