I am writing this review to share our experience at Bright Horizons New Eltham Day Nursery and Preschool, so that other parents can make an informed decision. On 02/12, I collected my 2-year-old son at 15:35. When I arrived, he was sitting alone on the carpet while most of the other children were seated at tables having tea. He appeared upset and began to cry when I picked him up. He told me he was hungry and that he had not been given food, despite asking. Later that evening, he repeated the same account and became upset again. I asked him what he had eaten between 9:00am and 15:35, and he told me that he had eaten only one banana during the day. He also said he asked for more food because he was still hungry but was not given any. I reviewed the meal records shown in the Bright Horizons app, and these did not appear to align with what my son reported or what I observed. This raised concerns for me regarding record accuracy and communication. I raised these concerns with the nursery and head office. An investigation was carried out; however, the outcome did not reflect what I personally witnessed or fully address my concerns. The nursery concluded that staff accounts were being relied upon. As a result, we decided to withdraw our son from the setting, as we no longer felt confident in the care being provided. Following the incident, he was noticeably unsettled and reluctant to return to nursery, which was unusual for him. This experience was not related to fees or session times, as I would have been willing to pay for additional time or food if required. My concern was about ensuring that a young child’s basic needs are met consistently and appropriately. I hope this feedback is helpful for the nursery and for other parents considering this setting.

I enrolled my 1 year old here, during the first settling session was asked to be in with her and after an hour just to observe and she nearly fell over from a step she was allowed to climb even though she wasn't walking properly yet, luckily I caught her on time as the staff weren't looking. Second settling session I wasn't in with her and upon collecting her she nearly didn't recognise me, to be then told that she fell from that step and bumped her head. Given that most kids were sleeping during both settling sessions, it was clear to me that my daughter was not looked after properly so we pulled her out from the nursery that same week.

My son goes here and is non verbal autistic. The staff, especially his key worker Sal, are absolutely phenomenal with him. He has even stayed on an extra year due to being deferred and I will honestly be so heartbroken when he has to leave. The support we have had, I will forever be grateful for. My little boy has come so far since starting here.

I love New Eltham day nursery and preschool so much I drive 25mins to drop my son off. My daughter started at 2.5years and had the best experience I could ever want for her so this is why my son goes now. The staff are so friendly and take great care of the children even in these hard times. I have had so much support and my son and daughter have had so much quality care here. I would highly recommend New Eltham. I will be sad when we move house and have to move nurseries as the staff are just wonderful. Amazing love for the children and such great care they are worth the money I spend to put him in each week.

A wonderful nursery. Well equipped, always prepared. Staff are fantastic and very encouraging & supportive. Always clean and tidy. The rooms are bright and airy and it's just an all-round fantastic place! Buggy store was extremely helpful when my son was using one. Great outdoor areas too. I would highly recommend to all local parents looking for the perfect childcare.
