Bright Horizons operates a network of approximately 300 nurseries and preschools across the UK, offering childcare solutions with decades of experience. The organisation emphasises a unique 'Nurture Approach' which integrates learning and emotional well-being to support children's development.

What it's like to attend
Children arrive and are greeted warmly by staff at this inclusive nursery, happily separating from parents and quickly settling. SEND provision
Staff knowledgeably support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) to meet their targets. They help deepen children's social, language and attention skills through enjoyable activities. Children with SEND make excellent progress from their starting points; the designated special educational needs coordinator (SENCo) is knowledgeable and very proactive at ensuring timely referrals to external professionals when appropriate.
Outdoor space
The inspector observed the quality of education being provided, indoors and outdoors, and assessed the impact that this was having on children's learning.

Bright Horizons in North Finchley is a special nursery in many ways, and we feel our child is in perfectly open, safe and kind hands. We highly recommend it. They have a few different rooms where children are organised by age, a kitchen (our child loves the healthy food!) and a spacious garden outdoors with plenty of activities. The management team has been around for at least 1.5 years, and come across as truly dedicated and passionate about their work. The nursery has qualified and kind staff, and a generous ratio of staff to children. We especially appreciate this, as we value our child’s need for time and attention. Our child has found such kind, patient and forming at the nursery, that we have full peace of mind. By the end of each day, we receive a report with a summary of all the meals, activities and any highlights. Every now and then our child also brings home a drawing, or painting to celebrate any festive occasions. Thank you for all you’ve been doing!

We had a wonderful experience with this nursery. My son attended for 2 years and 9 months, and we couldn’t be happier with the care he received. The nursery has a very large garden, spacious rooms, and is always clean. There are plenty of toys, and the staff prepare thoughtful and engaging activities for the children every day. They were especially supportive with potty training—thanks to their help, my son became potty-trained very quickly. During our time there, the management changed, but both the previous and current teams have been excellent. The staff work very hard, are responsive, and always take the time to explain what the children have done each day and keep parents fully informed. We also really appreciated the family gatherings they organised for different occasions—it created a lovely sense of community. Overall, they have everything in place to provide the best possible care and service. The only downside is that they now require two months’ notice to leave, whereas it was one month when we first joined.
