Bright Horizons is a well-established childcare provider in the UK, boasting over 300 nurseries. They focus on delivering comprehensive early childhood education and care through their unique 'Nurture Approach,' which integrates learning with emotional well-being to foster healthy, happy, and thriving children.
The nurseries are staffed by dedicated professionals who are committed to creating inspiring learning experiences and a joyful childhood for every child. Bright Horizons also emphasises forming strong partnerships with families, offering support with the daily work-life balance and guidance on various childcare funding options.
They provide non-chargeable settling-in sessions to ensure a smooth transition for children and parents, allowing families to familiarise themselves with the nursery environment and build trust with their child's key person. This approach prioritises emotional safety and individual needs, ensuring children feel known, safe, and loved from their very first visit.
Our ethos
At Bright Horizons, children are supported at every moment by dedicated, skilled, and caring grown-ups, our nursery practitioners. The Nurture Approach™ is central to life at our Nurseries. Inclusion & environment
Leaders support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) well. The special educational needs coordinator signposts parents to other professionals in a timely manner and closely follows guidance from professionals, such as speech and language therapists, to ensure that children's learning and care needs are met.
Staff provide children with good opportunities to support their physical development indoors and outdoors. For example, older children enjoy moving their bodies in a variety of ways and joining in with ball games, which encourages hand-eye coordination.
Our experience here has been great from day one. Staff is amazing, incredibly kind and understanding and super LGBTQ+ friendly (no issues accommodating our needs as a family with a non-binary member). My child is simply so happy to go, which is such a great feeling. Communication is always easy, and we really feel supported as parents. The nursery is also lovely. They do so much in terms of different activities and events, the staff is so creative and gives the children so many creative inputs :) I would recommend Bright horizons to anyone.
Read on GoogleI went for a tour at this nursery. My daughter (2 years old) loved it, she ran off from me the moment we got there to throw herself in and play with toys, however children were snatching things from her, while staff were watching, and no one said anything. We proceeded into their garden area, where she began playing and running around, she sat down with 2 little boys and started playing with them, one of the little boys snatched the toy out of her hand and very aggressively and loudly screamed at her to ‘GET OFF’ and proceeded to push her, to which none of the 5 staff members in the garden did anything about. We came to the end of the tour which is where they proceeded to tell me that even with 15 hours free funding a week, I would be required to pay £700+ a month for my daughter to attend 5 hours a day, 3 days a week (which works out 15 hours a week) which had never previously been mentioned and I’ve never heard of a nursery charging such extortionate prices. I feel as though this is something that could’ve been mentioned over the phone rather than wasting mine and my child’s time, along with the disrespectful experience she had while innocently playing.
Read on GoogleAbsolutely amazing and dedicated staff! They are so caring towards the children of all age and they help beautifully with their transitions from each room to next. They even provided us with a transition bag for our daughter when we were expecting our second baby, to prepare her with the new baby. They keep the children busy with age appropriate activities. The food provided is really good. Would highly recommend them.
Read on GoogleI have a nursery near my house where I enrolled my daughter two years ago, but she never enjoyed it. This year, I applied for emergency cover at your Bright Horizons Robert Road nursery, and my daughter Ayra came here for a few days. All of the team members at your nursery are so helpful, kind, and friendly that I now send my daughter Ayra here from far away because she enjoys it so much and learns a lot from your team. Chloe, Alex, and the other team members have taken such good care of my daughter, and I thank you all and hope you continue to keep up this high quality.👏👏
Read on GoogleOur family has known the team at Bright Horizons since our eldest started there in 2018. He spent three very happy years there and his development through the wide range of activities that the kids participate in daily was nothing short of astounding. Our second child is currently attending there and his development is progressing the same as his older brother's did. Our youngest starts after the summer. It was difficult back in 2018 to choose a nursery as there were a lot of choices and as new parents we were obviously apprehensive but within a very short space of time we realised we had made the right decision as each and every member of staff are very professional and hard working but also show a very genuine affection and interest in the children's wellbeing. We wouldn't hesitate in recommending Bright Horizons and will always be grateful to them for the peace of mind they gave us and the great care they took (and continue to take) of our children.
