What it's like to attend

Children, including those new to the nursery, settle well and develop strong bonds with staff through cuddles. They thoroughly enjoy their time, making good progress through challenging experiences and widening their awareness of the world.

Inspector highlights

  • The members of the management team are newly in post and have evaluated successfully the strengths and areas for improvement across the nursery. They have well-targeted ideas for development and successfully support the staff to enhance their professionalism.
  • Young children enjoy listening to songs sang by staff. Staff use action rhymes and simple sign language to help young children understand what is happening next.
  • Partnerships with parents are good. Staff successfully build relationships and encourage parents to be fully involved in their child's learning.
  • Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities receive early support, enabling prompt diagnosis and swift implementation of plans.
  • Staff enable children to learn about other languages and cultures by gaining a clear knowledge of children's backgrounds and heritages and seeking support from parents with key words in their home language.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities receive early support, which enables prompt diagnosis and swift implementation of plans. Staff receive help and advice from the special educational needs coordinator to support them in their practice. Managers use any additional funding children receive specifically to enhance the outcomes for individuals.

We would highly recommend this nursery to all parents. My daughter started at 11 months and as expected, I was anxious, but all the staff made me feel 100% reassured that she would be ok and love her days there and she definitely does. They do so much with her and document it down on the app for parents to see, which is amazing for us. She thrives at Wilmington bright horizons and has learned so much in only the 8 months she has been there, its amazing to see. I am so thankful to all the staff. If you are looking for a great nursery, I would definitely recommend this one

Daughter loves the nursery and staff and has been learning so much. We’re always kept informed by staff or by logging onto the Bright Horizons app. We get regular photos of what she has been doing too
