Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

When children have special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), staff work confidently with other professionals. This supports all children, including children with SEND, those with English as an additional language and those in receipt of additional funding, to make good progress in their learning.

Outdoor space

Children have plenty of opportunities to be active and explore the environment outdoors, fully participating in activities to help develop their physical skills. They enjoy using apparatus as they transport and negotiate the balancing blocks and wheel circuit with confidence.

I’m writing this review as a concerned parent who had an extremely upsetting and disappointing experience with Bright Kids Nursery. From my very first encounter, I was made to feel uncomfortable by a manager named Charlene, who made an inappropriate and unkind comment about my young son, referring to him as having an "old face." At the time, I was too shocked to respond, but the lack of professionalism continued in ways I couldn’t ignore. When I later contacted the nursery with a simple question about my child’s lunch arrangement, Charlene answered the phone rudely, with an unprofessional tone, and responded to my question in a condescending and aggressive manner. As a parent, I was asking a basic question about my child’s care, yet I was met with hostility and defensiveness. To make matters worse, when I raised my concerns with another manager, Zeba, I was met with even more dismissiveness and condescension. Rather than acknowledging my concerns, she made defensive comments, implying parents act entitled simply because they pay for the service. There was no genuine accountability or empathy, just justification for poor treatment. I witnessed on the nursery’s CCTV my one-year-old son crying and being ignored by staff. It was heartbreaking to see him reach out for comfort and be left alone. Only after I called the nursery did someone attend to him. This level of care is completely unacceptable and deeply concerning. Although one manager, Ronika, did acknowledge my concerns and responded professionally, the core problem remains: this is not a safe or nurturing environment. No parent should feel afraid to leave their child in the care of a nursery. No child should be ignored or spoken about disrespectfully by staff. Bright Kids Nursery may have a few good individuals, but it is deeply mismanaged. The way parents are treated and the way children are overlooked makes it an unsafe choice in my experience. I’m incredibly relieved to have removed my son from this setting. He is now thriving in a much more supportive, professional, and caring environment. Parents! please think twice before enrolling your child here. There are far better nurseries where your child will be loved, heard, and protected. This is not one of them.

My son attended Bright Kids Nursery for 1.5 years, and the experience was good. The staff is very professional.

My son attended this nursery for two and a half years, starting at six months old and just turning three recently. During his time there, he experienced multiple concerning incidents. Early on, he came home with nail marks near his pelvis—twice—after having his nappy changed. On two separate occasions, under staff supervision, he was bitten and scratched in the face by another child. More recently, he had a serious accident on a bike, resulting in a long facial scratch, the manager Zeb claimed that the nursery nurse took her eyes of my child for one second resulting in him getting badly hurt this is unacceptable when it comes to safeguarding young children. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this nursery to any parent. I have removed him from this nursery. I should have done this from the first incident with the nail mark however they kept assuring me that he is well looked after which was definitely not the case.

My son has been attending this nursery for a year and a half now, and I just want to express how truly grateful I am for the care and support he’s received throughout his time there. As a child with extra needs, it was important for me to find a setting that would not only accommodate him, but also help him grow—and this nursery has done exactly that. The staff have been incredibly supportive, and their patience and understanding have made a real difference. Since starting, I’ve seen such positive changes in his language skills and his independence. It’s been amazing to watch his confidence grow, and I know a huge part of that is thanks to the nurturing environment the team has created. A special shout-out to Renika, Zeb, Paige, Medinat, Hanifa, and everyone else who’s been part of his journey (sorry if I’ve missed anyone I don’t know all your names)—thank you for your consistency, your kindness, and for helping keep his development right on track. We appreciate you all more than words can say.
