Our little girl attended Brightstars and had a good experience with some experienced staff in the under twos room however, that’s where any good points stop! Some staff in the next room up were so careless they didn’t inform us of incidents that had occurred and it took them to do an internal investigation to tell us she had had another accident during the same day! She sustained what our doctor thought were solvent burns and they hadn’t even noticed nor could they tell us how it had occurred! Absolutely shocking practice from very inexperienced ill trained staff that I wouldn’t trust to take care of my animals, let alone a child!

My daughter started at Bright Star 6 months ago. I am so happy we chose to send her there. Imogen adores the staff and she feels happy and at ease when I drop her off with her key worker(s). The staff have been kind and considerate towards us as parents and understand that it can be hard leaving your child with them for long periods of time. They always take the time to tell us about how our daughter's day has been. We appreciate their honesty, even if she has had a bad day. I have complete trust in the staff at Bright Star and know that Imogen gets the best care possible. I have no hesitation in recommending this nursery and am grateful for all the effort they have put in to making it a happy place to be!

My daughter had only been at this nursery for only two weeks for 2 days, the staff are very unapproachable my daughter was in the 2 to 3 room on two occasions she had a very wet nappy. When comeing home, and was very tearful going in and coming home. The staff don't really tell you much about there day or what there have eaten. Also I had received a email today demanding that I pay a bill today or I'll will get a 20 pound charge, even tho I paid in full 2 weeks ago. Needless to say I called up and informed them that my daughter will be leaving the woman on The fone was very abrupt and just said okay and hung up! I do not recommend this place to anyone

I found bright star Chester-Le-Street terrible. My little boy attended for 3 days for around 18 months up to school age. The women can’t tell you anything about what they have done all day. The ladies are to busy chatting outside if the weathers fine. You ask what they have eaten. They can’t tell you. I just gave up asking. I found most of the women unfriendly. Everything organised for trips etc is usually told to you a couple of days before. I missed a parents evening at the start due to this so I didn’t find out my little boy had not been talking other than one word (baby talk). They never asked me about this and I didn’t find this out until 6 months later in at the next one. I advised the staff member he talks fine at home and has a wide vocabulary and talks in full sentences all though some words are slightly unclear. She looked shocked. I told my little boy to talk properly to them and the following week they said he had vastly improved. They said he was over the moon he had put his coat on himself one day. He dresses himself fully at home and had done for 6 months. They don’t have a system to log progress each day which pretty much all nursery’s do these days. It’s very outdated. The women need to talk to the parents more about issues straight away. I don’t see why this should be a difficult thing to do. I feel like he missed out on 6 months of learning due to the issues. They need to email parents about trips and schedules rather than put it on the doors or catch you a couple of days before. All they seem to do all day is play. There is no writing Or sitting drawing shapes with them. Hope they try and improve for the other parents and kids they are looking after.

My daughter loves this nursery. She's been going since she was 10 month old and is now 2 . Staff are so helpful and friendly .
