Broadfield Nursery CIC, established in 2014 by a team of four directors, is dedicated to fostering an environment where children aged 3 months to 8 years can thrive. Located within the Crawley Broadfield Family Hub, the nursery offers a purpose-built facility designed to meet the diverse needs of children while adhering to regulatory standards, including those for Health and Safety, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, and Ofsted.

The nursery prides itself on its open-plan, bright, and spacious interior, which is thoughtfully organised into various workshop areas. This design encourages children to explore, investigate, and develop independence at their own pace, fostering social skills and decision-making through play and firsthand experiences.

With two secure outdoor play areas, children have opportunities for year-round engagement, promoting physical activity and risk-taking in a supervised setting. Broadfield Nursery is committed to providing a fully inclusive environment, valuing each child as a unique individual and promoting a shared understanding and acceptance of diversity.

The team works closely with parents and the community to deliver meaningful, enjoyable, and personalised learning experiences, ensuring children build upon their prior knowledge and expand their understanding of the world. The nursery operates with an hourly charge system, offering flexible childcare solutions to best suit families' needs.

The nursery is committed to personalised learning that builds on prior knowledge and encourages children to explore, investigate, and develop decision-making skills at their own pace within a thoughtfully organised, open-plan setting.

What it's like

Children thoroughly enjoy their time at the nursery. They are full of enthusiasm when they arrive and are pleased to see staff and their friends. Babies are welcomed by their key person and quickly settle into their daily routine, while older children move freely around the setting choosing from a wide range of exciting resources and activities.

Pricing & funding

Broadfield Nursery charges by the hour to support the most flexible way of offering childcare. Please enquire for more information regarding costs and fees. Every child is entitled to government help with childcare costs, under the government tax free childcare scheme. If your child is 2 or over, they may be eligible for 15 or 30 hours of free childcare per week for 38 weeks of the year. Every child is entitled to free childcare hours the term after their 3rd birthday, and some can claim 2-year funding the term after their 2nd birthday. This government help can make a big difference to your childcare costs. Every child aged 3 or 4 in England is entitled to 570 hours of free childcare per year – the equivalent of 15 hours free childcare spread over 38 weeks, from the term after their 3rd birthday. Or we can stretch the funding all year round which is 11 hours per week. Two-year-olds can also get free childcare hours. You’re eligible if you are claiming benefits such as income support or jobseeker’s allowance, or if you meet other criteria Your child could be entitled to another 15 free hours per week, bringing the total up to 30 hours of nursery funding for 38 weeks. You can claim the extra hours if you or your partner are working and earning at least £6,240 per year (£5,800 if you are aged between 21 and 24). That’s equivalent to working at least 16 hours a week at the National Minimum or Living Wage. You can’t claim the free hours if either you or your partner earns more than £100,000 per year.
