Toad Hall Nursery Crawley, established in 2024, is a childcare setting for children aged 0–4 years. It operates Monday to Friday, from 8:00 to 18:00, all year round, and follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
The nursery places a high priority on children's welfare and wellbeing, ensuring staff are warm, responsive, and attentive. They adopt a caring key-person approach, getting to know each child's background and routines to promote emotional security and successful settling.
Children enthusiastically engage in activities and demonstrate a strong sense of belonging, benefiting from a broad and ambitious curriculum. Leaders are dedicated to achieving the best outcomes for children and actively promote physical activity both indoors and outdoors.
They skilfully plan play experiences based on children's interests and developmental stages, ensuring children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), make consistent progress. The setting's approach to SEND involves close collaboration with parents, carers, and external professionals, ensuring targeted support plans are in place.
While children with SEND make positive progress, leaders are working to ensure all staff are fully aware of individual children's precise targets.

Inclusion & environment
All children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, make steady progress. Leaders and staff use their knowledge of individual children to promptly identify any learning gaps. Staff with lead responsibility for inclusion work with other staff, parents, carers, and external professionals, ensuring targeted plans with specific strategies and bespoke targets to support ongoing learning and development. Despite some inconsistency in staff awareness of precise targets, children with SEND make positive progress and leaders claim and monitor additional funding effectively.
Children have abundant opportunities to be physically active, both indoors and outside. Young children delight in parachute games and ride-on toys, while older children eagerly access the outdoors, manoeuvring their bodies and practising balance on obstacle courses. This supports children's muscle development and promotes healthy habits for life.
