Rainbow Nursery, located within the grounds of Crawley Hospital in Crawley, West Sussex, is a full day care setting operating from a detached, single-storey building. Established in 2011 and managed by Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust, it offers childcare to employees of the trust and the wider community.

The nursery caters to children aged one to four years old, with a total capacity of 36 places. During the inspection on February 9, 2023, there were 23 children on roll.

The dedicated team of eight staff ensures a nurturing and supportive environment, with seven holding relevant early years qualifications. The setting is open weekday mornings to early evenings, 51 weeks a year, providing ample opportunities for children to learn and develop across all areas of the curriculum.

The provision receives funding for free early education for two, three and four-year-olds.

  • The manager and wider management team regularly reflect on and evaluate the environment, making adaptations based on the children's cohort and attending training to refresh their knowledge and skills.
