About this day nursery

Bunnybrookes Day Nursery, registered in 2015, is a childcare setting for children aged 0-4 years, located in Cambridgeshire. Open Monday to Friday from 7:00 to 18:00, the nursery operates all year round.

The setting has an overall "Good" Ofsted rating from its latest inspection in January 2026. The nursery places a strong emphasis on independence, with activities tailored to help children develop these skills, such as self-feeding and mastering cutlery.

The setting also plans to add a vegetable patch to its garden, which will enhance outdoor learning and knowledge opportunities. A book-lending scheme has been introduced to boost children's communication skills and foster a love of reading.

Care for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) is individualised, involving external professionals and one-to-one support. However, the report suggests that involving external agencies more swiftly and engaging parents earlier in developmental discussions could further enhance this provision.

The nursery prides itself on creating an inclusive, warm, and welcoming environment where children are happy and feel a strong sense of belonging, progressing well from their starting points in all learning areas.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Individual plans are developed for children who require further support, which may involve external professionals. Some children are supported on a one-to-one basis, where staff role model sharing and turn-taking. This provision could be strengthened by involving external agencies more swiftly so that all children are supported in the most suitable way.

Outdoor space

Children run enthusiastically in the garden, laughing and calling out to their friends. There are plans to add a vegetable patch to the garden, which will further children's knowledge and opportunities for teaching in the outside space.
