Busy Bees at Edwalton, established in 2021, provides childcare for children aged 0-4 years. Open Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm all year round, this busy and vibrant nursery was rated Good by Ofsted in July 2023.

Children thrive here, leaving parents with ease and eagerly greeting staff and friends, building strong bonds with the kind and caring team. The nursery provides exciting opportunities for children to explore, with a clearly sequenced educational programme in each age group.

Children particularly enjoy playing and exploring the outdoor areas. Older children develop strong physical skills as they run around safely, while babies enjoy tummy time, stretching out for toys to develop strength for crawling.

Staff also support young children as they ride in push pedal cars and climb on equipment. Communication is a key strength, with staff effectively supporting children's language development.

They model language for babies, encourage singing, and engage older children in conversations to widen their vocabulary. Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities, and those who speak English as an additional language, benefit from staff training in sign language, aiding communication significantly.

The nursery prioritises developing children’s small-muscle skills, offering activities like squeezing paint from bottles to strengthen fingers for future writing. Partnership with parents is a strong aspect of the nursery, with positive feedback from parents, regular photo updates, and daily communication about children's achievements.

They have also established a parent lending library to encourage reading at home.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities have particularly benefitted from staff training in developing sign language for children to aid communication.

Outdoor space

Children thoroughly enjoy playing and exploring the outdoor areas. Older children develop strong physical skills as they run safely around the outside area, chasing staff and each other. Babies enjoy tummy time as they learn to stretch out for toys, helping them to develop the strength needed for crawling. Staff support young children well as they help them to ride in push pedal cars and climb and balance on equipment.

My daughter loves it here, she has been going 2 years now. All the staff are really friendly and my daughter calls 1 of her care workers in particular her best friend. I know my daughter is in safe hands here and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Just had to share how excellent Busy Bees are i picked my grandson up for the first time as he wasnt well and the checks photo then id were exceptional 👍 my grandson is in very safe hands 😁

My little boy currently attends, he has only been there for 3 weeks and they already know his personality, habits and routine. He has been to a previous nursery and honestly this is hands down the best nursery. All the staff are lovely, cannot fault any of them. My baby smiles and laughs when he goes in and when we pick him up, this was rare at the other nursery and he would not willingly go to staff. Here he loves them all. If your thinking of sending your child to nursery, they will be in safe hands here.

Great new nursery. All staff we have come across have been fabulous, really friendly and you can tell they really care for the children. Little one seems very happy and loves going there. Thank you.
