Busy Bees Day Nursery at Bristol Stoke Gifford, established in 2004, provides childcare for children aged 0-4 years. 30am to 6pm, offering consistent care for families.
The curriculum is thoughtfully designed to provide a wide range of experiences, with a particular focus on fostering communication, language, and literacy skills, often through engaging activities with books. Staff are skilled at motivating children to participate fully, reinforcing their learning and introducing new vocabulary.
For instance, pre-schoolers use mathematical language while measuring, and babies develop small-muscle skills through exploration with insightful commentary from staff. The nursery effectively supports children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) by working closely with parents to secure additional funding and collaborating with other agencies to ensure individual needs are met.
This commitment to inclusive provision was noted during the inspection, which included professional discussions with the special educational needs coordinator. Children are encouraged to confidently lead their learning within a well-organised environment, which allows them to explore and extend their ideas.
This Bristol Stoke Gifford setting received an overall rating of 'Good' at its latest Ofsted inspection on 07/01/2025.

Inclusion & environment
Staff work closely with parents to gain additional funding and liaise well with other agencies to bring about essential support to meet individual children's needs. Inspectors discussed children's learning and how staff support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities, and conducted professional discussions with the special educational needs coordinator.
Both children have attended BusyBees Stoke Gifford and have both been cared for in such a fantastic way. The staff are amazing and have supported them through all stages especially recently in covid times. Staff recognise interests and use these to stretch and challenge the children with numeracy and literacy skills. You can often walk past nursery and see the staff running around with the children and the children laughing and giggling. I really cannot fault this nursery and have recommended them many times.
