About this day nursery

Busy Bees Day Nursery at Enfield, established in 2001, provides childcare for children aged 0 to 4 years. Open all year round, from 8am to 6pm, the nursery received a "Good" rating in its latest Ofsted inspection on 1 June 2023.

Children are warmly welcomed and happy to start their day in a safe, well-organised environment that fosters skill development. The nursery offers a well-designed curriculum, encouraging children to explore their own interests and make good progress.

There is a strong focus on the prime areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage, with good language provision including cosy book areas and a book lending library. Children are encouraged to become independent learners, developing their skills through play and conversation.

The nursery effectively manages behaviour by explaining expectations and the impact of actions. Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) are particularly well supported by their key persons.

Individual development targets are set, and their progress is continually monitored, ensuring full engagement in activities and good progress. Communication and language teaching for older children is strong, with staff modelling correct English and using resources to support those learning English as an additional language.

Mathematics teaching across all age groups is also highly effective, with staff identifying opportunities for children to practice early number skills. While younger children enjoy stimulating outdoor play spaces, the pre-school outdoor provision is an area for ongoing development to further enhance independent learning opportunities.

Parents consistently share very positive feedback, praising the caring staff and the strong key person relationships.

Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are well supported by their key persons, who know them extremely well. Clear learning and development targets are set, and children's progress towards achieving them is constantly monitored. These children fully engage in all activities and make good progress.

Outdoor space

Children throughout the nursery enjoy playing outside. Younger children's outside play spaces are stimulating, providing opportunities for children to explore many areas of learning. However, the pre-school outside provision is not always as well planned, and independent activities do not provide enough interest and/or opportunities for them to broaden their knowledge and skills.

Staff are very friendly and always smiling ready to take my child in. The class atmosphere is welcoming. I know my child has a good nutritious meal and when she doesnt eat if shes just being picky, the staff will give her some fruit to make sure shes not hungry. When I collect my child shes always happy and I get feedback about her day.

Not much fun living close to this place Babies crying constantly from very early in the morning. Why don’t they take the screaming little ones inside away from the situation instead of shouting and making them cry even more!! One particular child cries constantly, day in , day out . It’s awful to listen to

Busy Bees Enfield is the most fantastic nursery. From day one we have been ecstatic with how they have cared for our daughter. She has been at the nursery since she was 9 months old having never left us before, the staff in the baby room are outstanding and she settled in amazingly. She has a fantastic bond with her key worker and has such fun attending every day. Her development has come on leaps and bounds thanks to the activities she does with staff and other children. She hates to leave and cries when she has to come home. Communication is excellent as are the safety measures in place for Covid. We love seeing the updates on the app and think this is a wonderful feature.

My daughter has been at Busy Bee's for the last 2 years, moving from the baby room through to toddlers and has just started in the pre-school room. I have been really happy with her care at Busy Bees, the most important thing to me has been that all the staff I have had contact with have really cared about the children. The manager Kaley is excellent and she always makes time to speak to parents if they have any questions or concerns. Whenever I have given her feedback she has acted on it quickly and let me know the outcome.
