About this day nursery

Platform One Nursery Ltd, established in 2001, operates from Grange Park in Enfield, providing childcare for children aged 1 to 4 years. Open from 8am until 6pm each weekday, almost all year round, the nursery offers a consistent and nurturing environment.

The latest Ofsted inspection, on 19 July 2023, rated the nursery as 'Good' in all areas. Children at Platform One Nursery Ltd are described as feeling happy and safe, confidently exploring resources, and enjoying a wide range of experiences.

They are encouraged to express their ideas and needs, knowing that staff will listen and respond. The nursery places a strong emphasis on developing independence from an early age, with children learning practical skills such as using cutlery and peeling fruit.

Outdoor learning is a key feature, with children enjoying active play in the garden, developing their larger-muscle movements through climbing, balancing, and riding scooters. The curriculum covers all areas of learning, providing many opportunities for children to experiment with different media and explore sensory materials, fostering imagination and critical thinking.

The nursery effectively supports children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), identifying those who need extra help and implementing strategies like using picture cards for children who speak English as an additional language. A strong focus is placed on language and communication skills, with staff engaging children in stories, songs, and conversations throughout the day.

It was a pleasurable train station, cleaned, and the workers were so polite, that I still remember them from 1998, when I used to travel to Guildhall University to study languages. My best memories are there.
