About this day nursery

Busy Bees Day Nursery at Haywards Heath, established in 2015, provides outstanding childcare for children aged 0-4 years. 30 am to 6 pm on weekdays, the nursery creates an inviting and homely atmosphere where children thrive.

Leaders understand that the setting is often a child's first experience outside the home, and they thoughtfully design the environment to feel familiar and secure, with each child having their own basket for personal items to aid settling and emotional development. Staff are exceptionally skilled at fostering independence, offering children various utensils, cups, and chairs as they grow, and incorporating physical and independence skill development into daily routines and activities.

The nursery implements a broad and balanced curriculum, tailored to each child's individual interests and next steps in learning. A highly effective key-person system ensures strong bonds between children and staff, with key persons supporting children in pairs and visible photos of children with their key person reinforcing these relationships.

The nursery excels in supporting children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), working closely with parents and professionals to create individualised strategies that help children regulate their emotions and thrive. Parents consistently praise the supportive staff and their genuine investment in each child's well-being and learning, appreciating the regular communication and ideas for home learning.

The nursery also actively involves families in enhancing children's learning and enjoyment, inviting family members to share their cultures and arranging exciting visits, such as from a pilot, to broaden children's understanding of the world. Management demonstrates strong leadership, with a clear vision for the curriculum and dedicated support for staff training, ensuring children receive the best possible start.
