About this day nursery

Busy Bees Day Nursery at Hempstead provides a welcoming and friendly environment for children aged 0-4 years. Open five days a week, all year round, from 8am until 6pm, the nursery focuses on providing meaningful experiences that excite and motivate children to play and explore.

The curriculum is designed to build sequentially as children progress through the nursery, with a strong emphasis on communication and language development. For instance, the baby and toddler rooms focus on these areas, while the pre-school room further builds on independence and self-help skills, preparing children for school.

Stories, reading, and singing are integral to the curriculum for younger children, fostering their development in these key areas. Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) are well supported, with staff meeting regularly with other professionals to bridge learning gaps.

The nursery utilises additional funding effectively, such as purchasing story sacks with books and props to support language development. Children engage in various physical activities, with older children enthusiastically participating in assault courses and learning to pedal bicycles.

The staff team, deemed "Good" by Ofsted in their September 2024 inspection, are praised for their secure understanding of child development and effective tracking and monitoring processes.
