About this day nursery

Parkwood Christian Fellowship Preschool, a well-established childcare setting in Parkwood since May 1969, provides an inclusive and nurturing environment for children aged 18 months to 5 years. The preschool operates during term time, offering dedicated sessions across three rooms: Little Robins, Big Robins, and Squirrels.

They emphasise a play-based approach, incorporating various activities such as expressive arts, physical development, personal, social, and emotional development, communication and language through sand and water play, literacy and maths, and understanding the world through imaginative play in the home corner. The preschool operates a key-person system, ensuring each child has a dedicated staff member to oversee their well-being and development.

Parents are encouraged to be actively involved, with an "Open Door" policy for viewing learning journals and opportunities to volunteer. The preschool focuses on foundational learning skills, socialisation, and emotional development, preparing children for school by fostering problem-solving, critical thinking, creativity, and basic academic concepts.

They also highlight the importance of parent and caregiver involvement in a child's education, offering various opportunities for participation and communication.

Our ethos

We recognise that parents/carers are the first and most important educators of their children, so we encourage you to come in and help during a session as a volunteer. We believe your child will benefit from your involvement to make our Pre-school a welcoming and stimulating place.
