Busy Bees Day Nursery at Holmes Chapel provides childcare for children aged 0-4 years, operating Monday to Friday, all year round, from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm. Established in 2015, the nursery received a "Good" rating in its latest Ofsted inspection on 4 January 2022.
Children are encouraged to be curious and self-motivated learners, exploring concepts like the properties of light and water. The nursery fosters strong partnerships with parents, who have praised its organisation during the COVID-19 pandemic and appreciate the open communication channels.
Children feel confident and at home, benefiting from a key person and a "buddy" system to ensure familiar support. The curriculum effectively sequences children's learning, preparing them for school and promoting good health habits, such as encouraging independent water dispensing.
Staff skilfully interact with children to continuously extend their vocabulary through activities like playing with zoo animals and wooden shapes. The nursery effectively plans for children's learning based on their interests and achievements.
Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) receive individual support plans, with staff implementing advice from specialists like speech and language therapists. While children play outdoors daily, the report notes that staff are more confident in planning indoor learning, which can limit outdoor experiences and development.
Children also learn about the wider world and develop kindness through activities such as observing temporary traffic lights and contributing to a food bank.

This nursery has been such a positive experience for our daughter and our family. The staff are incredibly warm, professional, and dedicated, and they really take the time to understand each child’s individual needs. Our daughter has thrived here — socially, emotionally, and developmentally — and it’s reassuring to know she’s in such safe and capable hands. The activities are engaging, the environment is welcoming, and communication with parents is always clear and supportive. We’re extremely thankful for the care they provide and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this nursery.
Read on GoogleMy fours year old son has only been at this nursery for two months, as we have recently moved into the area. The staff have been nothing but brilliant & he's settled in really well. He has special dietary requirements which is reassuringly catered for. He also comes home telling us about what he's learnt in his day, & developing very well. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this nursery, all round very good.
