About this day nursery

Buttercups Day Nursery in Church Crookham, Fleet, provides high-quality childcare for children aged 3 months to 5 years. Established in 2002 by two mothers passionate about early childhood education, this privately owned nursery maintains a warm, homely atmosphere.

The dedicated team of nursery practitioners works collaboratively, exceeding OFSTED staffing requirements and continuously updating their skills through regular training. The nursery features age-specific rooms; babies and toddlers up to 2 years old are accommodated on the first floor with a separate sleeping area, while two rooms on the ground floor cater to 2-3 year olds and pre-school aged children (3-5 years).

Children are encouraged to engage in both indoor and outdoor activities within the large garden, which offers diverse play areas, including grass, paved sections for riding toys, a wooden playhouse, a messy corner for sensory play, a mud kitchen, and a nature area for exploration. The nursery prioritises a secure and relaxed environment where children learn through play, fostering individual development and encouraging positive social interactions like sharing and turn-taking.

Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Children, including those who have special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and those in receipt of additional funding, benefit from personalised one-to-one support for their learning and development. This has a positive impact on their progress from their starting points. When some children, including those with SEND, need additional support, staff successfully use visual prompts, Makaton and repetition of words to help all children with their developing communication skills.

Outdoor space

Staff complete daily risk assessments of the nursery to ensure that the building and outdoor areas are safe. Staff supervise children as they play indoors and outside, and when eating.
