About this day nursery

Butterfly's Nursery, established in 2010, is a childcare setting in Warrington that offers a warm, home-from-home environment for children aged 2 to 4. The nursery places a strong emphasis on fostering secure relationships between children and staff, promoting a sense of safety and belonging.

The curriculum, based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), aims to provide varied experiences for children; however, the inspection highlighted that planning doesn't consistently tailor activities to individual children's next steps. The nursery effectively supports children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) by promptly identifying individual needs through observation, assessment, and communication with parents and professionals.

Staff utilise individual plans and visual aids to support children with SEND in understanding routines and transitions. Furthermore, leaders and staff actively support children from disadvantaged backgrounds, maintaining open communication with all families via a communication app to keep them informed of their children's progress.

Parents consistently speak positively about the nursery and appreciate its role within the local community. The outdoor area is well-utilised to support physical development, with staff encouraging activities that promote balance, strength, and coordination.

As a parent, finding the right nursery is one of the most important, and emotional, decisions you can make. Butterflys has exceeded every expectation and provided my child with a nurturing, joyful, and enriching environment to grow in. From day one, the staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about early years development. The settling-in process was handled with such care, making both myself and my child feel comfortable and confident. They take time to really get to know each child’s personality, needs, and interests. They empower creativity, independence, and early literacy and numeracy skills. My child often comes home excited to share songs, stories, and new things they’ve learned. Outdoor play is a big part of the day, which I love, and there’s also a lovely focus on social skills and emotional wellbeing which was super important. Communication with parents is great updates, photos through an app keep me in the loop, and I truly feel like a partner in my child’s learning journey and its so great to see and even talk about with my child at the end of the week. The facilities are clean, safe, and thoughtfully designed. There’s a cosy nursery room and doesnt feel too impersonal at all just like a home away from home as they move up theres a preschool room that feels like a mini classroom—readying the children for school in a gentle, supportive way thats not too quick and they take their time with transitions when its time. Butterflys is more than just a nursery; it’s a little community where children thrive, and parents feel supported. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for high-quality childcare with heart ❤️ 🦋
