About this day nursery

Central@RLK, established in 2015, operates from a dedicated facility within the Robert Le Kyng Primary School grounds in Swindon. The nursery is structured into three distinct rooms: the Yellow Room caters to 2-3 year olds, while the Blue and Purple Rooms are designed for children aged 3 and 4 years.

The setting provides a nurturing environment for early years education, focusing on stimulating activities that encourage development. They also offer a Holiday Club for extended care during school breaks.

Parents are expected to provide healthy packed lunches for full-day or afternoon sessions, and the nursery emphasises clear communication regarding fees and session changes.

What it's like

Children thrive in this warm, welcoming and inclusive pre-school where staff take time to thoroughly understand the backgrounds and individual needs of the children and families attending. Staff offer young children immense support so that they can separate from their parents with ease and feel safe and secure with the staff so they are ready to settle and learn. Older children play well together cooperatively, and staff give them the tools they need to share and take turns, creating a calm and harmonious environment.

How they support every child

SEND provision

The provider and staff monitor children's progress meticulously, putting in place specific support to help children catch up while waiting for outside support. The provider has used additional funding highly effectively to support any gaps in children's development. The provider and staff place a huge focus on supporting children's speech and language development and provide small group activities to build on language skills for those with gaps.

Outdoor space

The provider has prioritised gaining funding for a climbing frame, recognising that many children do not have access to the outdoors, to develop their core strength and physical skills. Children regularly engage in physical exercise, indoors and outdoors, and outside, staff provide lots of resources to help children develop their core strength and large physical skills.
