Cherrytree Nursery School - Newtown, established in 1989, provides childcare for children aged 2 to 8 years in a former school building in Ashford, Kent. The nursery operates term-time, from 8:45 AM to 3:00 PM on weekdays, and also offers holiday clubs during school breaks for up to five days a week.

With a large team of 22 staff members, 15 of whom are qualified in early years, the setting is well-equipped to support children's development. The nursery places a strong emphasis on meeting the needs of children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), offering high levels of care and working collaboratively with other professionals to ensure comprehensive support.

Pricing & funding

Cherrytree Nursery School offers term-time sessions for children aged two to four, with options for mornings, half days, or full days. Fees are payable weekly, monthly, or termly in advance, and apply regardless of absence. Funding is available for eligible two, three, and four-year-olds with specific session patterns.

Good to know

  • A refundable deposit of £100 is required to secure a place, except for Free for Two funded-only places.
  • Four weeks' notice is required in writing to withdraw a child.
  • Fees must be paid weekly, monthly, or termly in advance by debit card or bank transfer.
  • No refunds or deductions are made for absences due to sickness or holidays.
  • A late collection charge of £5 per 5 minutes applies for children not collected promptly.
  • Parents must supply their own nappies and wipes, or a daily fee of 50p will apply.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities receive high levels of time and care to meet their ongoing needs. The staff team is well trained, highly qualified and knowledgeable and works tirelessly with other professionals to support the ongoing needs of children and their families. Staff support a large number of children who have special educational needs and/or disabilities.

Outdoor space

Children confidently explore space and movement using bicycles and ride-on toys with varying levels of skills and complexity of movement. Children learn to make decisions for themselves by listening to clear instructions from the staff, including putting on coats for outdoor play.

My son has been attending Cherry Tree Nursery since January. It's fantastic and it makes me feel a bit sad that he will be leaving in Summer. The staff are lovely, professional and attentive. Highly recommended!

My daughter went to Cherrytrees and absolutely loved it. From day 1 she was so happy to be there and never had any worries. She thrived there, had an amazing early years education and was fully ready for school as a result. We were so sad when we moved house and it was no longer practical for my son to go there too. Had we lived closer it would have been our first choice.
