How they support every child

SEND provision

All children make consistent progress and achieve well across the nursery. This includes children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Children benefit from staff who rigorously track their progress and provide individual support plans for them. This helps children to work consistently towards achievable targets. Where appropriate, children benefit from support from experts in their learning and from careful adaptations to activities. This helps children with SEND to achieve consistently well. Staff work closely with a wide range of experts to enhance their teaching with strategies that promote the learning of babies and older children, including those with SEND.

Outdoor space

Staff make full use of resources, both indoors and outdoors, to create a wealth of learning opportunities for children. For example, children created a replica of a local building site in the nursery garden and eagerly engage in role playing builders. All staff prioritise children’s physical development through a wealth of opportunities to practise physical skills outdoors. They support all children, including babies, to use a variety of tools to enhance their coordination and control.

EAL / language support

Children's home languages are recognised, valued, supported and celebrated. The nursery provides opportunities for children to look at books in different languages, and parents are invited to read to the children. Staff receive appropriate training and support to teach children who are learning English as an additional language.
