Free Nursery Entitlement Guide All 3 year olds receive 15 hours funding per week, from the term after their 3rd birthday. This is not something parents/carers apply for, it is received automatically. This is also known as universal entitlement.   Children aged 9 months and above can also receive 30 hours funding. This funding is 30 hours extended entitlement for working parents/carers. There is certain criteria you have to meet, and it must be applied for by the parent/carer within the funding term before you are wanting to use it. For example, if your child turns 3 in August, you may be eligible for 30 hours funding from September, so you would need to apply before September in order to receive the funding. If successful, you will receive a 11-digit code which will need to be supplied to the nursery. This code will need to renewed every 3 months to reconfirm eligibility. Applications must be made through the government gateway portal.   If you are not eligible for the working parents funding, it is likely that if your child is 2 years old, you may be able to receive 15 hours funding. Parents have to apply for this through Somerset Council, in which if you are successful, we will need a copy of the confirmation email from Somerset Council.   In order for us to claim all types of funding, we must have a copy of the child's birth certificate. Without this, we are unable to claim any funding and you will be charged the hourly rate.   For children who attend all year round, the funding is stretched to either 11 hours per week or 22 hours per week.

My daughter attends Chuggers Day Nursery and has done since she was 9 months old. I cannot recommend the nursery enough. My daughter is always coming home telling me what fun she had and what activities or learning she has done. The staff are always friendly and approachable. Claire the manager in particular is so understanding and considerate. Nothing is ever too much trouble and she knows all of the children so well. Of course, like every nursery, there may be things which arise but the staff team are always so helpful and supportive to solve any issues. 5*

My son joined Chuggers when he was 9 months old and has been there for 3 years. He absolutely loves his time there and has made lovely friends. The staff are always so approachable and they have built great relationships with the children. I am always kept informed and up to date on my sons progress and daily activities. I would definitely recommend this nursery to anyone looking at options for their child

My daughter has attended Chuggers since she was only 6 months old, she has been there for almost a year and I cannot praise the nursery and their staff enough! They treat my daughter as family and she always goes in and out with a huge smile on her face, I am kept updated throughout the day on the app and also always have a thorough handover. We use cloth nappies and the nursery have been more than accommodating with this. Would not send my daughter or future children anywhere else!

My son started there at 16 months old and we’re really happy with the care he is receiving, also he’s learnt so much since going there and became much more confident around people and children. He will continue to go until school time and we’re planning on sending our daughter there next year as well☺️
