About this day nursery

Clarence House Barns Ely, established in 2012, operates as a childcare setting for children aged 0-4 years. Open Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm, all year round with a short break between Christmas and New Year, the nursery provides a consistent and secure environment for young children.

The setting received a 'Good' rating in its latest Ofsted inspection on 10th January 2022. Children here are described as well-settled, relaxed, and happy, forming strong bonds with staff and feeling safe.

Staff know the children well, tailoring activities to their emerging interests. This includes opportunities for imaginative play, such as older children building volcanoes and learning scientific terms, and babies exploring paint and developing physical skills in spacious indoor and outdoor areas.

Emphasis is placed on language development, with staff acting as good role models for speaking skills and encouraging a love of reading. Staff working with children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) are particularly commended for their close relationships with children and families, and their ability to collaborate with other professionals to ensure appropriate support.

Our little one only started in the baby room on a part-time basis recently, but we've already been made to feel so at ease with regular updates on how he is and what he's up to (especially reassuring after tearful drop offs). Everything we've experienced so far as only confirmed to us that we've made the right choice in selecting Clarence House as his first real taster of the world away from us. We're very grateful for all these ladies do to learn his interests and to build a relationship with him, as well as to keep him smiling and enjoying his day 😊
