Children are happy and eager to engage in the diverse experiences offered, demonstrating a strong sense of belonging and connection upon arrival, as they are warmly welcomed by peers and staff alike.
The nursery excels in supporting all children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), by working closely with professionals like speech and language therapists. This collaborative approach, supported by a dedicated SENCo, ensures swift identification of additional needs and fosters comprehensive development across all seven areas of learning.
The well-constructed and ambitious curriculum is delivered by staff who feel extremely supported by leaders and benefit from dedicated training time. Children greatly benefit from outdoor play, enthusiastically exploring the natural environment and learning about safety, for instance, understanding why large equipment cannot be used when icy.
The nursery is praised by parents for the strong relationships between staff and children, and for the notable progress children make in their speech and language development, a testament to the staff's role as strong communication role models.

Inclusion & environment
Staff are ably supported by the setting's special educational needs coordinator (SENCo) to swiftly identify when a child may need additional help. Staff work cooperatively with professionals, such as speech and language therapists, resulting in all children, including children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), developing detailed knowledge and skills across the seven areas of learning.
Children benefit greatly from outdoor play. Staff ably support them to explore the natural environment, for example, young children excitedly hide 'bugs' around the icy garden for their friends to find. Children demonstrate an eagerness to spend time outdoors and confidently explain why they cannot use large equipment when it is slippery and dangerous.
Our son attended Clifton for 6 months last year and really enjoyed the quaint village feel. The staff there felt more like family than nursery nurses!
