Colehill Nursery, established in 1997 and relocating to Colehill First School in Wimborne in 2004, provides childcare for children aged 2 to 4 years. Open Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm during term time, the nursery received a "Good" rating in its latest Ofsted inspection on 24 March 2022.

Children are warmly welcomed and quickly form strong bonds with the kind, caring, and nurturing staff, fostering a sense of safety and security. The nursery prides itself on its well-planned, structured, and sequenced curriculum, which supports children’s development.

Children who require additional support are identified promptly, and effective interventions are put in place, with staff collaborating closely with other agencies and parents, particularly for those with special educational needs. Leaders and managers carefully allocate additional funding to support disadvantaged children, ensuring all children make progress.

The manager regularly reflects on practices to ensure continuous improvements benefit children's learning. Colehill Nursery places a strong emphasis on outdoor learning, with children benefiting from extensive time spent outdoors in all weathers, promoting physical activity and fresh air.

This includes activities like climbing, balancing, running, and jumping. The nursery also fosters a love of reading through enthusiastic storytelling and encourages imaginative role-play where children collaborate to solve problems.

Parents commend the setting, noting their children settle well and are happy to attend, and are kept informed of their child's progress via an online application. Children are well-prepared for their next stage of education due to the nursery's strong links with the primary school.
