About this day nursery

Country Tots Childcare NW is situated on a working Cumbrian farm, providing a unique childcare setting that overlooks the Duddon Estuary within the Lake District. The day nursery aims to educate children according to the EYFS framework, while fostering a deep understanding and appreciation for the countryside and the natural world around them.

Children are given first-hand experience with animals, promoting a hands-on learning approach. Founded by a farmer's wife with over 15 years of experience in educating children and having raised her own daughters in a similar farming environment, Country Tots seeks to offer other children the same enriching opportunities.

This approach combines formal early years education with practical outdoor and farm-based experiences, encouraging growth and development through engagement with their environment.

Our ethos

Our aim is to provide a unique childcare environment allowing your child to grow and develop their understanding of the countryside and the outside world around them, as well as having a first-hand experience of animals. We at Country Tots would like to offer your child the same opportunities, educating your child to the EYFS, while incorporating an understanding of the outside environment around them.
