The Croft Nursery, established in 1991, provides childcare for children aged 3 months to 5 years old, operating year-round. This independent nursery focuses on nurturing and encouraging each child to learn and progress within a supportive environment.
The nursery prides itself on offering "inclusive rates," meaning the price advertised is the final price, encompassing all extra-curricular activities to ensure every child can participate. They maintain staff-to-child ratios consistently above statutory requirements, ensuring each child receives ample attention and support throughout the day.
The Croft also emphasises outdoor play, offering children opportunities to engage in physical activities like running, climbing, and jumping, as well as digging, growing produce, and messy play in their outdoor areas. Furthermore, the nursery is committed to environmental responsibility, continuously seeking ways to reduce its carbon footprint and support ecological initiatives.
With welcoming settings designed to feel like a home away from home, The Croft Nurseries are deeply rooted in their local communities, providing indoor and outdoor spaces that foster learning, play, and curiosity.

Inclusion & environment
Leaders are committed to providing a curriculum to ensure that all children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), develop the knowledge and skills they need for the next stage of learning. Children with SEND are extremely well supported; there are well-established systems to identify where children may need support, and early help is sought promptly.
All children benefit from regular outdoor play where they explore nature and develop their physical skills. Younger children develop their mobility as they master climbing steps, while older children excitedly participate in an assault course where they skilfully crawl through tunnels and expertly balance.
My Daughter started at the nursery beginning of September 2024, since she has been attending I have noticed such a positive change in her speech, language and behaviour. I do believe this is a credit to the learning activities that are taken part at the nursery. All staff within the nursery are very professional and friendly, particularly the three members of staff within my daughter’s class they have help her develop so much and also show care for my daughter. Management are also efficient and will always help and deal with any issues I may have. Overall I would highly recommend The Croft Nursery to family and friends.
Read on GoogleAbsolutely incredible nursery - I cannot recommend highly enough! Both my children have attended since they were one year old through to preschool and they have both really thrived and become sociable, happy and confident little boys. The nursery has such a family-feel - all the staff know all the children well and make them feel at home. It has been wonderful to see the children build a close and nurturing relationship with their key workers and I’m so impressed with how much the children learn and develop at nursery. There is a real focus on getting school-ready, so the staff help the children learn important life skills such as self-care and toilet training, as well as making leaps and bounds in their phonics and maths work. Thank you for everything you do and keep up the amazing work!
Read on GoogleMy daughter has been attending the Croft since November 2022, she was only 11 months old then. This was the best decision we made as our daughter, who is now in pre-school, is thriving here. The staff is warm and caring, food is freshly prepared by a chef and all the rooms are well managed and clean. They do many planned and unplanned activities every week and children learn so much in a playful way. They do everything from reading, music, dance, fitness/ yoga, building good self-care and hygiene habits, independent play, sensory activities, building cultural awareness and so much more. My daughter loves going there, loves her teachers, has made so many friends and always comes home with a smile.
Read on GoogleMy son has been attending Croft nursery since August 2024 and since he started there he has become so confident! He is 17 months now and he is just developing his speech, but since attending Croft he has been using so many words and been very chatty. Also his interactions with others have been so much better, he is very confident around other children and is happy to play with other adults too, which was not the case before. The staff at Croft is super friendly and caring and always takes time to talk with me and listens/ discusses my child progress and needs. You can tell they genuinely care. I am super proud of my little boy progress and I am so happy he is attending such a great nursery!
Read on GoogleHighly recommended this nursery! Both our sons have gone here - our youngest joined aged 1 (now in pre-school) at the same time as our oldest started his final pre-school year aged 3.5 (moving from another local nursery we were unhappy with). Best decision we made, as the nursery has provided a wonderfully nurturing environment setting our sons up for the transition to school brilliantly. All the staff are excellent and make every day a joy for my children with varied activities. Communication is great, keeping us updated of their progress on a regular basis through a chat on pick up, via alerts on an app, through emails and at parents evenings.
